A little peek into "school" time

Well, those of you who know me will be amazed, but this year I am actually conducting school in a way that resembles the "factory" method (with...ack!..desks! **no textbooks or workbooks though- I haven't gone down that far :-) more than I'd like it to. We start off our day with Morning Prayer at church and then stay there, having our "school" in one of the back Sunday school rooms. I was very worried about how I would educate our children this year with our new little "wild card" (Anna Claire) thrown into the mix and it's been a great help to have the church nursery room nearby. So far, things have been working as well as could be hoped. Here are a few pictures from today:

~reading about Beowulf

~Chloe is studying medieval English literature this year, including Beowulf, histories of Bede, the Authorized Version of the Holy Bible, etc. We are using resources by H.E. Marshall: English Literature for Boys and Girls, and The Stories of Beowulf.
