Erosion lesson (aka lessons while weeding...)

Weeds were growing in and around the sidewalk next to our house. Because it was such a cool and pleasant morning (very unusual) and I thought the children should be outdoors, we decided to have the outdoor "fun" of pulling weeds during our regular school time. They learned all about why it's not a good idea to let weeds grow between concrete slats. (-certainly more fun, useful and meaningful than reading it out of a textbook!)
