What we've been up to today

Chloe has been making a lot of little flower fairies out of wooden beads, pipecleaners, embroidery floss, etc. She started making them a few years ago using the Klutz book as a guide and decided to purchase some more supplies and go at it again. I wish I could post pictures of some she's made*. They're incredibly cute. (Picture is of one of her fairies- thanks, Uncie for lending your camera!)

Chloe has also been needlepointing today. Miss M has been teaching us to needlepoint and Chloe really enjoys it.

Kievan, Allie, and Ben have been drawing on the sidewalk with chalk in addition to running around and having fun in the backyard.

Other than the ordinary cleaning/schooling/cooking, I've been scrubbing and waxing the wooden floor in the schoolroom. Last time I used a "time-saving" wax, but haven't been pleased with how it held up. This time I'm using the real paste wax.

We decided to have our tea outdoors in order to enjoy the beautiful day. We used our "Wreck of the Hesperus" teapot (from Grandmother, named because of the handle which is in the shape of a girl who looks like she's strapped on...reminded the girls of the Longfellow poem we were reading around that time) and some "new" teacups Chloe found at the thrift store a few days ago which match the teapot perfectly.

*but can't thanks to MOCT (Mean 'ole Camera Thief)
